Unique sieve

Description

A *sieve* is a tool with a mesh or perforated surface used to separate wanted materials from unwanted material, or to control particle size. Basically, it filters, strains, or separates.

*Main uses of a sieve:*

1. *Cooking & baking*
– *Sifting flour*: Breaks up lumps and adds air so cakes/bread are lighter
– *Straining liquids*: Remove seeds from juice, pulp from soup, or pasta from boiling water
– *Dusting*: Sprinkle powdered sugar, cocoa, or flour evenly over food
– *Rinsing*: Wash rice, beans, or vegetables while letting water drain out

2. *Everyday household*
– *Tea strainer*: Tiny sieve to catch tea leaves
– *Playground sand*: Keep sand in, let water out in sand toys

*How it works*
The holes let small particles pass through and keep bigger pieces behind. The size of the holes = what gets separated.
